My Silly Girls!

I love my girls! They are adorable and sweet and they love to make Mommy smile! Here are just a few things that they've been up to lately ...

Hannah has discovered that she LOVES makeup! She found some makeup under the counter that I didn't even know I had and decided to give herself a makeover! As you can see - she was very proud of herself! Though this didn't compare to the makeover she gave herself with my black food coloring! - That was lots of fun (not really!) I was too worried about cleaning it up to take pictures of that one though!

This one deserves two pictures. Emma has some beautiful and wild hair!! She has a very specific name for it on occasions such as the one in these pictures, and she'll correct it if you say it wrong - it is "squilly". She'll wake up from her nap and say 'mommy, my hair is too squilly, can you fix it?' She's adorable!

The warm weather is coming and the girls love being in they're swimsuits.

Hannah was trying to see how close she could get to the camera!
Isn't she so beautiful!!

Painting of any kind is always a favorite - and yes they are wearing trash bags! Say Cheese!!!

Mother's Day

Growing up we always took a picture with my mom on mothers day, and I think it's so fun to see them all now that we're 'all grown up' so I've been doing the same. So here's some pictures from our mother's day photo shoot!

From the Mouths of Babes: The Easter Story as Told by Emma

Sometimes Emma says the cutest things and so when I can, I try to write them down - preferably while shes telling me, or right after.
.
So a few days ago while I was making the girls lunch Emma started telling me about a movie she watched in church, it was getting cute and there was a pencil and paper nearby so I started writing - Here was our conversation (from the time I grabbed a pencil!)
.
.
Emma: I watched a movie!
.
Me: At church?
.
Emma: Yeah!
.
Me: What was the movie about?
.
Emma: JESUS!!!
.
Me: What happened to Jesus?
.
Emma: (sadly) He died.
.
Me: Oh, what happened after he died?
.
(Then she got into her story telling mode and took off)
.
Emma: She has to wrap his body. And she can't find him. And she's sad. And Jesus breaks the spell! And she can't find him, and she says, 'what happened?' And the rain comes down, and the rain stops. And the door comes off, and Jesus breaks the spell!!
.
.
I couldn't help but smile. Then we sat for a few minutes and I told her that Jesus is our savior and that he died for us and was resurrected so that we could be together forever and live with him again someday. It's moments like these that I look forward to sharing with my kids every day. I love that as their mom I get to raise them and watch them grow moment by moment!

March

There are many things I wish I was better at, and blogging is one of them! I tell my self that "this time" I'll blog more frequently, but life happens and my blog is forgotten! In my own defense, I think there may be only 2 people in the world who even look at my blog...

Anyways, March was a sad time for the Welch family. Justin's father suffered a severe stroke and passed away. We were present when they removed life support and his passing was very peaceful. It is so comforting to have the gospel and the knowledge of the plan of salvation during times like these. Such knowledge does not eliminate the sorrow, pain, and longing one might feel, but softens it, adding to it peace and joy in knowing that death is not the end, and that we will be in the presence of our Father in heaven again someday with those who have passed before us.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

We spent Valentine's Day together as a family and had a really fun time!

We started the day off with a special breakfast! Yummy!

Emma and Hannah were very excited about their Valentine gifts!

Hannah couldn't stand to wait and took a bite of her candy right through the foil!

Since Emma wasn't feeling well we decided to stay home and have a movie night. I put a bunch of blankets and pillows on the floor downstairs and we had popcorn and homemade pizza while we watched 'Peter Pan'! The girls loved it! It was a great way to spend Valentine's day with the family!

Go Lakers!!

We went to a Laker game with Justin's brother and sister-in-law on the 10th. We had originally bought tickets in the highest level of the stadium, but Joseph (my brother-in-law) was able to get some great seats through his work, so we switched at the half. We had a great time!

Lakers and Thunder warming up!

Getting ready for the national anthem.

Tip off.

Justin and I enjoying the game!

Jack Nicholson Enjoying the game!

Justin 'coaching' his team - he really thinks they can hear him you know! (even when he's watching the game on TV!)

Kisses!

Our view from the awesome seats during the second half! - Thanks Joe and Jenn!

The final score! We even got free tacos from Jack in the Box since the Lakers kept the Thunder under 100 points!

Kobe being interviewed after the game - He set a new record during the game as the youngest player to score 23,000 point in NBA history!
